How do you set up a defualt MIDI input [RESOLVED]

I have multi channel mode active so I can arm more than one track at once. When I add a new MIDI track the input defaults to my Korg Micro X. I have to change it manually to my Roland Piano.

I have looked in the book and asked MOTU's UK tech support. Both came up blank. I just want to add a track and have the default input set as my Roland, not any of the others.

Any ideas?

DP sees MIDI devices in the order that they are presented from the Apple Core MIDI system. DP has no control over that order.

As far as I can tell, the order of devices in Audio MIDI Setup is determined by the order in which they are added.

Create a new AMS configuration. The first device you add to the configuration will most likely be the first device that DP sees when you engage multi-record.

Hi Dave,

Is there any way to 'bulk' reassign certain MIDI inputs (say, the 16 you just created from 'add VI' command)? It takes soooo much time going thru each ind input for sevearl VI's. The create a new AMS config, though a good one, is sorta out of the question for those of us with 7 MIDI time pieces and tons of gear.

Thanks for that - I removed the other instruments - and unplugged the usb for my micro Korg leaving the piano plugged in - then I set everything up again and now when I add a track it defaults to my piano! Happy days! I now need to work out why none of my Ohmforce plugins work with DP!!! But I'll post a new thread about that Cheers again!
