gavspen why do you think it requires 10.5.7 ? I am still on 10.4.11 and it seems to be running fine.

Just installed S4 to my Vista Ultimate 64bit desktop. Probably the fastest browser there is, though Google's Chrome is nice too.

The download of Sarafi 4 for Tiger is a different one than the one for Leopard. If you're running Leopard, the Sarafi 4 installer tells you that you need 10.5.7. At least, it does at my house

From the website....

Macintosh Requirements
Any Mac running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 or Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Security Update 2009-002

10.5.7... well it's a choice between Safari 4 (update to 10.5.7) or DP6 (stay on 10.5.6). No choice really  Oh well, Safari 4 runs nice and quick on my Powerbook G4.

I can't believe that two different versions of Safari 4.0 (4530.17) one for Tiger and one for Leopard would both share the exact same name and version number. What is your build version # ? On the other hand Leopard may not be compatible until version 10.5.7 just as Tiger isn't compatible except for version 10.4.11, or more likely only these versions are tested and supported. The installer program checks all this out, but you can always drag an install into another environment and see what happens.
