Applying verb to certain keygroups only. How?

As in, say, to a drum kit, but not the bass drum. I've pored over the manual and followed the instructions at the end/beginning of pages 135/136, but it's behaving strangely. I can make a keygroup selection, apply an effect to "AUX A" and use the slider "Aux Send A", and it seems to work. But, having got it going, when then I move between parts or click around in other places, the keygroup selection is lost, and the bass drum is suddenly getting echo.

I should mention that I'm using the very first release of MachFive 2, since I wanted to continue to use Trilogy in it. Was this just a bug in this version, or am I being dense?

I'm not sure about your method, but I know you can send keygroups out a separate bus and thus bring it back into DP on it's own aux for you to process as you like.

Yeah, that's how I'm presently doing it, but I wanted to try and do it inside Mach 5, thus cutting down on track overload in the mixing window, if you know what I mean. It's supposed to be do-able, according to the manual, but I cant make it work.

Here's how I did it:
- Loaded a kit from the factory sounds
- Loaded a reverb in Aux FX slot A
- Selected the kick drum keygroups, then right-clicked on them > Move Keygroups To > New Layer
- Opened the list editor and clicked the lock icon for the new layer with the kick drum keygroups. Closed the list editor.
- Selected all keygroups (note that locked kick drum keygroups are not selected) and cranked up the Aux A slider.

I catch your drift. If I can figure out where the list editor is I will certainly give it a shot. It makes perfect sense; separate out the bass drum and cordon it off, so to speak. For those of us without a right click mouse (me), what is it? Control, click?

There are two buttons in the upper left corner of the waveform display area: one that looks like a couple of layered pages, and a circled "i". The former is the list editor, the latter is sample info.

For those of us without a right click mouse (me), what is it? Control, click?
