Any way to hot key a punch in and punch out command?

Post by RockNRoll »

Hello all,

Just wanted to know if anyone happened to know if DP allows you to hot key a punch in and punch out command? As of now, I usually just manually click on the punch in/out button on the transport window with the mouse. Is there a more efficient way of entering punch in and punch out points by chance?

Thanks for your input!

Yes.

The default is the 3 key on the numeric keypad. You can reassign that in the Commands window if you like.

Motu 828 (any release) has a programmable jack socket for punch in/out footswitch.
Traveler and Ultralight don't.
Works fine for "play-pause" and for "rec in-out" as well.

Hi thanks for your reply!

What I actually was referring to was setting the auto punch in and out points (the little red up and down arrows appear as you set both the auto punch in and out points). I usually have to manually click on the word 'in' on the transport window to set the auto punch in point. Is there a way to make a shortcut or hot key of this? Sorry for the confusion!

The defaults are F3 & F4 to set the punch in & out points from the current counter position, respectively. Another way is to select the record area (from in to out) and hit shift+control+opt+R to set both in one go.

Thanks a lot! I did try to search "punch" in the command list window, but it didn't seem to come up with anything related to what I was looking for.

Great shortcut!

I always wished that you could hit (say) F3 and it would highlight the punch in point like Studio Vision used to do, rather than actually place the counter in there.
