hi all,
i've been using the PCI-324 with my 2408 mkII and my 24i in my studio for years, but i think i would like switch to using my FW 828 mkII as my core device. i never need more than 16-18 inputs on a bed track session, and the lower latency monitoring and 4 cue mixes would be nice. i also have a Presonus Digimax FS which gives me 8 more mic/line inputs through the ADAT pipe.
currently i only use my 828 for live recording outside my studio with my macbook. my studio machine is a Windows XP PC.
i'd like to install the FW drivers to run the 828 mkII on my XP studio machine, but i wonder if it's necessary to uninstall the 324 card and drivers prior to doing that. one thing i can think of right away is that there is a different version of the cue-mix software for the 828 mkII..
anyone with experience using FW drivers and 324 cards on the same machine care to weigh in?
PCI-324 and FW drivers on the same machine?

Re: PCI-324 and FW drivers on the same machine?
No, you do not need to uninstall the PCI-324 drivers first. The PCI-324 drivers and FW/USB interface drivers can be installed simultaneously. There are actually separate sets of programs (CueMix Console, Audio Console, etc.) for the two interface types, so you don't have to worry about a newer program not working with the older interface.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.
