Main Out = Analog 1-2 out?

Post by bybalone »

Hi guys, I'm new here.

I did some researsh before posting and found nothing on that matter. Sorry if I missed it.
These are, I guess, pretty basics questions and here it goes:

When I use my ULTRALITE MK3 along with the CUEMIX software, I can hear the mix trough my headphones (selected Main Out in the Phones menu of Cuemix) exept for the reverb. To hear the reverb, I have to select the Analog 1 in the phone menu and I only hear the reverb. I mean, I can't really hear the NOTES. On my LCD screen, I can see that the reverb is returning in the analog 1-2 (meter) out of my interface. Is this a normal behavior? How to hear the reverb and the note in the same channel (Main Out)?

Any suggestion?

Thanks for your help.

if you are using the 3.6.8.1400 driver it has mis-assigned outputs. This is a known issue and for some months now we've been waiting for Motu to fix this.

For now a roll back to 3.6.8.1398 fixes it

Yeah, thanks for the reply. There seems to be a driver issue indeed. Amazing that I decided to sell my Presonus interface to buy a MOTU thinking that the drivers issues would be history from the past.

When I start Sonar, I have an error message stating the my audio card can't support stereo output so that it has been set to mono instead, would that also be a driver issue?

Damn it, I resintalled the 3.6.8.1394 drivers from my CD and altough My guitar Rig setup is ok now, I still can't hear the reverb in Cuemix. It's still redirected in my analog 1-2 out and NO notes. Just a "echo room".

Anyone share the same problem?

So long for writing new songs for now...

I had big time problems trying to uninstall the new .1400 driver, and install one of the older, such as the.1394. ASIO routing is shifted and, my S/PDIF Output doesn't work using the .1400 driver.

My biggest problem was that traces of the.1400 was still on my system, even though I uninstalled and rebooted. Then, I came across a thread in which a user who revealed he had spoken with a MOTU tech support person, shared his story, and was told that the uninstaller doesn't uninstall all of the driver files (so I attempted a manual uninstall of left over driver stuff myself).

He also said to go to Device Manager and unistall the MOTU Audio MIDI Extension under Sysytm devices (In Vista), yet I never can get that to uninstall. I believe the other thing to do was to delete the MOTU foler in Program Files. He said he had to go into the registry and manually delete all MOTU entries, of which some can't even be deleted. And, it took me more than 20 minutes going through the registry looking for MOTU entries and attempting to delete them. Some wouldn't delete just as he said. I was finally done and rebooted.

Then, I tired installing the driver that came with my UltraLite MK3 (which was driver 3.6.8. 1360) it installed ok since I manually delete some of the other driver residue stuff, but the CueMix software wasn't as good as the .1400, so I tried uninstalling and installing the .1394. Irritably, after 2 attempts, the .1394 wouldn't install correctly. I wasn't about to go through the long process of manually uninstalling aagain, so luckily for me I use Acronis True Image.

I restored my system from an image I made before I bought the UltraLite mk3.

Then, I installed the 3.6.8.1394, and, thank goodness, my uinit is working impressively, now. The reveb and EQ works correctly with the .1394. I hear the effects on whatever input, Bus Mix. or output I use them on. The only thing is that I don't have the CueMix FX new features of the Ociloscope and stuff.

Now, I'm waiting for MOTU to release a good new driver abd CueMix FX with wich I can use the CueMix FX new features! I reported to via a TechLink my issues with the .1400 driver two days ago, but it hasn't been read, yet.

Making a long story short, It seems there are problems installing a MOTU driver once you had a different one installed.

If you can, you may want to start from scratch and install the .1394 driver.

I see what you mean, I read the post how to sucessfully unistall the newest driver (1400 in my case) and intalled the 1394 instead. No problem there (to make it easy, I done a search in my C drive with everything containing the word "MOTU" and deleted it). Still, no reverb in Cuemix. I wonder if the 1398 drivers are anygood? I guess it has nothing to do with my Ultralite MK3 and Cuemix..?
