Upgrading a G4 DP4 system to Intel - Any bad apples ?
We're upgrading a G4 DP system. The project has a medium budget so we're looking at upgrading the old system (DP4, Hammerfall HDSP 9652, Dual G4 quicksilver 2002) to DP6 and buying a used Intel MacPro and used MOTU hardware that runs on Firewire and supports ADAT. Are there any know bad MacPro and MOTU combinations that we should avoid? (IE: a certain run of macbooks had a bad firewire chipset.) - Thanks

For what it's worth, you can buy a brand new previous generation 2.8 8-core for $2399. I just did.
Mac Studio m2 Max // OS 14.7// DP 11.34 // MotU Ultralite mk4 // Komplete Ultimate 15 // Arturia V Collection 9 // Korg Collection // Stylus RMX 1.8 // Omnisphere 2.6.2c // Scarbee Keys and Basses // T-Racks 5 Max // Amplitube 5 Max // BFD3 // Blue3 // PolyM //

I'm still running a G5, albeit, the best one ever made, the Quad. When I moved from a G4 Dual to the G5 is when DP and VI's really started working for me. Whatever you get, you're gonna' be amazed. DP6.02 is very nice.
