My external HD, which is after my Ultralite, shows up in XP pro, but as I go to render a song, my DAW stops
and can't locate the HD. My ThinkPad fw400 port is a Ricoh. I'm down to moving the HD in front of the Ultralite,
installing the new MOTU drivers (or maybe older ones?), or trying the AVT drivers.
Anyone know what is the correct order of placement in the f/w chain? Any suggestions for success???
External HD before, or after Ultralite Mk3???

Re: External HD before, or after Ultralite Mk3???
I wouldn't daisy chain them at all. Just too much stuff going on at once especially with all the firewire issues. I use USB drives to keep the bussing isolated.
Having said that, go ahead and try the AVT drivers. It's just the sort of issue it's supposed to cure. They're easy to install and toggle back and forth between the Windows ones if you need.
