Control of output levels - Ultralite/CueMix

Post by dumaisaudio »

I'm new to the Ultralite, and there's one thing I can't seem to figure out. Is there software control over the levels of the outputs? Is there hardware control of the levels of the outputs? Every other interface I've owned (Echo, M-Audio), their software mixer has an outputs section with faders where you have software control over the outputs, so you could send multiple signals (from Live or Logic) to an output and then use the software mixer to adjust the overall level of an output. I don't see that in CueMix FX. As best I can tell, the only way of doing this is to assign an output to the "Monitor Level", and then you can adjust it. But if you un-assign the output from the "Monitor Level" control, the level reverts back to full. Is there anyway to have control over the level of the outputs, from the CueMix window or from the Ultralite itself? This seems like a huge oversight to me not to be able to do this.

Based on my experience with the Traveler mk3, what you want to do cannot be done with the Motu unit.
Like you said, you can control the output level for the "Monitor" selected outputs, but everything else will be output full level.

However, you can definitely set the output level for each output in Logic itself, for example.

I was trying to do the same exact thing with my new 828mk3... I think the answer posted above is correct, you need to set up the headphone mixes in logic with sends and busses. It will take a little getting used to but in many ways I think it is a better approach.

It seems odd not to have this functionality, as so many other interfaces have it. I guess it's just something I'll have to learn how to live with if I want to use the Ultralite.
