828MK2 on a new mac?

Post by deliverator »

Hi all,

i am considering the purchase of a new mac. I currently have an 828MK2 Firewire on my Dual 2.0 G5. If I purchase a new Mac Pro, will the 828MK2 work correctly with a 400-800 converter? I don't want to be surprised if I have to purchase a new interface as well.

Thanks!

I have a 800-400 cable that works fine with my 8pre. an adapter should do the job for you AFAIK. It should work with my 828mk2, but there must be a driver issue with the new Mac Pros - it won't recognize it. Wondering if anyone is having the same problem...

Hi deliverator,
I too have purchased a new mac. The cable adapter (FW 800-400) works with no problems. The only thing I had to do was to rever back to the 1.4.9 version driver, because the latest one does not retain the connections made in the Audio MIDI Setup.

No Issues on this end
