Adding sequence from another project

Post by yuyicastro »

Hi,

I'm a newbie....

I have several projects and I want "join" them by making a single project with several sequences.

Is there a way I can import a sequence from another project?

The only way I figured by now is exporting the audio files and then dragging them into the sequence of the other project. This way I loose all the mix, all the effects, everything!

Please help me!

Thanks!

Use the 'Load' function from the file menu. Once you've selected the project that you want to load from you get a dialog box which lets you decide which, sequences/chunks you want to import into the current project - just make sure you click on the correct box for the soundbite import options down the bottom.

In the Load dialog box you get to specify exactly what you want imported. Make sure you select whatever you want to get.

If you are getting that "Copy Audio Data" progress bar, it surely means you selected to include the SBs by copying them (not referencing them).

Make sure you read the manual. If you're a newbie, it will be your BEST friend! Even for more advanced users, it's very important to have it handy to consult it periodically.

You are complicating yourself and wasting time by exporting the audio files (and dragging them into the project). You can have DP do this for you automatically. It takes it only a few seconds.

Again, READ THE MANUAL! This chapter is only a few pages long...

Found it!! It added everything as a new sequence in my project.

It basically copied the sequence into my project. Exactly what I needed!!!

Do you have the manual?

Although your point is valid, I/O, I think many, if not most, of us would admit that it isn't always easy finding the right page in the manual, much less the appropriate DP term. I suggest that if you are not interested in answering a quesition, you simply don't bother. No need to berate the questioner, who in this case, was thoughtful enough to respond with his notice of success.

On the other hand, RTFM still applies yuyicastro :D
