I am getting ready to update the HD in my macbook pro (Late 2008 Unibody). I like the idea of installing a 500gb drive, but only 5400 rpm drives are offered. 7200 rpm drives are available, but only 320gb. I am just getting started, I need to know if the 5400 rpm drive is fast enough.
I will be using DP 6, Logic pro, Addictive Drums and eventually other virtual instruments.
I appreciate any help.

A number of people are using the 5200 in the note book, if you are going to use a lot of VI's I may get the 7200 it will keep up better or you could get an external drive as well.

When speaking about HD and RAM, I've always went for the best I could afford...
