I am trying to set up the motu 828 Mk3 firewire audio interface but have hit a roadblock... I have connected the PC to the motu via firewire cable but I am not able to get signal on the motu as there is not a "firewire" input option on the motu. There is analog, SPDIF, and mic but no firewire input option.
Basic question - is firewire generally used to send audio signal from a computer to a pre-amp/audio interface such as the motu? If so what am I missing, how do I get audio signal from the PC to the motu, at least to get the input meters to operate?

Re: Basic firewire question re Motu 828 Mk3
My advice is that you start reading some basic documentation my friend.. firewire handles the communication from the audio interface to the computer, and lets your daw software have access to the phisical input and output channels of your mk3, there is no such like firewire input and output!
