Problem with new motu 828mkII drivers

Post by galouche37 »

Hi and thanks for this good community :)

I was running my 828mkII device with no problem under XP pack2 with the first drivers ( several years ago) and I've changed them with the 6.8 ones and now my device is well recognized but when I open cue mix it says : " the device is running on a bus that cannot support this sample rate " so as I've searched a long time and I've not found the solution I'de like to use the old drivers but I don't see them the motu.com ... Is it possible to find them ?

Thanks in advance :)

I've found the 3.5.3.2 drivers and now it's ok, I wonder well why the 3.6 ... drivers don't work for me ... :?

The older 3.5.*.* drivers likely had a smaller "footprint" as they probably had fewer features. Motu keeps adding more and more features (bulk) with every version. If you haven't modded the Firewire host bus controllers in SP2, then your firewire is likely only running at a 100mbps, instead of 400.

thanks a lot for your response and for your subjetc, I've changed the 1394 drivers ( not easy to do it, xp was replacing the sp3 drivers as soon I was deleting them but no it's ok) but for the nic1394 drivers now XP don't find them even when I give the sp1 folder link ...

It's ok now to run the cue mix, but when I play guitar with xp effects no sound at the motu outputs ... so I've put the old motu drivers again and it's ok ... the new drivers seems not to be for my motu :D

Just out of curiosity, where did you find those old drivers?

Are the 3.5.3.2 drivers FW only? I suspect this because although listed as Firewire/USB2.0 I cannot install them on my 828mkII USB version. Unless the installation has put them somewhere I cannot find (however not in C:\Windows\inf, system32 or so).
