2x 896HD on Vista 64 won't synchronize

Hi folks!

I use Vista 64 for a while now and have always worked with one 896HD only and without problems. Yesterday I wanted to check my DAW including the 2 896HD I own and I noticed that the 896HD will synchronize but only for a few seconds, then the synchronization process (blinking LEDs on both) will start again. Obviously the sequencer won't work properly then.
The first 896HD is connected via firewire to my TI-chipset-Firewire-Card on my PC, the second one is also connected via firewire to the first one. I've set the buffers up to 2096, but that didn't change anything.

Anyone a hint? Is this a known Vista 64-problem?

This is a Microsoft Windows issues, regardless of XP or Vista.
