Problems with 6.02 Bounce to disk!!?

Post by hrw »

i'm starting to not be able to Bounce to disk without crashing with 6.02.
Is the VI instances too much for DP. Its getting infuriating!
even when i am not selecting VI's or MIDI to bounce and just trying to bounce audio out PLAY reloads and then crashes DP!
anyone had this or knows a fix?
i get the impression that DP6.02 doesn't handle big projects with multiple VI's very well.
I'm loving all the new features, but this is becoming untenable...
help!
6.03... hurry up...
anyone?

Thanks for reply waxman. any idea where i could find the details to do this?
i think i may go the Bidule route. DP is lazy with workload i reckon.
i found BTD much more efficient in 5.13.
Oh lord, i hope they get this right in the next update.

For what it's worth, I can't get BTD or Freeze to work in DP 6.0x, but I've always figured that once I stop working on old stuff and start fresh on something new, maybe it'll work. What I do is to record to a stereo track, then drag the final track to the Finder. Interestingly, that DOES work. I use BWAV now, so that gives me a track I can take to iTunes and turn into an mp3. I'm hoping for relief in the next version. Maybe they could just skip to version 7. The 6's are always going to cause a negative reaction in me. On the positive side, that's about the ONLY trouble I'm having in DP at the moment. Of course, as soon as I change my routine a little, that could also change.

Would this PLAY you refer to be the VI from EastWest maybe? We're seeing some problems with this VI over at the Mac OS X Audio forums also. Try removing PLAY from your plug-ins folder and trying a BTD with audio files and some native DP plugs.

I'm freezing, Bouncing to disk, etc... just fine in DP 6.02. I even did a BTD with some non-rendered VI's and it worked fine (I WAS holding my breath the whole time).

I'm working with older and newer projects (Dp 5 and 6) and not seeing any BTD or Freeze problems (knock on wood).

FWIW, I've changed the "screwed' topic header as I'm weary of this sort of tone to the subjects. I understand some people are having problems and some people need to vent, but let's try and ratchet down the way we title these threads if you don't mind.
