I've got a pair of active M-audio (bx5a) and a pair of passive Tannoys, and I'd like to have both connected to my 828, but of course, need to control each pair independently. Currently, I have my 828 outputs split to my headphone amp and to the active speakers. I used to use a monster cable speaker selector to switch between my passive speakers & loud speakers (all using speaker wire), but the active speakers are 1/4" plugs. Is there a speaker selector on the market to allow for wire and 1/4"? Or does anyone have a different configuration to suggest?
thanks.

Re: active and passive speaker hook up
You need a switch before your power amp, sending the preamp level signal to either the amp (to drive your passive speakers) or directly to your active monitors. There are a number of products that will do the job for you, bu Mackie, Presonus, etc. Most have a volume control and many have multiple headphone amps as well.
