Software not seeing signal from 424 system. Help!

Post by nz »

Hello,

I hope someone can help me with this. I have a 424 system (2408-24i/o 1-24i/o 2) and am having the problem that all of my levels of inputs are showing up great in my LED meters on the units themselves, but nothing is coming through to record enabled inputs in the software I am using (Logic 8 and Live 8).

I have checked my MOTU PCI audio Set Up and all my inputs are enabled as well as selected outputs to my monitoring system. I can see the meters working perfectly in my PCI CueMix Console (all mutes are off).

There is no signal whatsoever that is passing through to my software. Just dead.

I know all the hardware works as I had everything up and running perfectly in 10.4. I just wiped my entire drive clean with a format and clean installed 10.5, reinstalled all the latest drivers from the MOTU site and here I am writing this blog. Nothing else changed but that.

Any ideas what I might be missing in this?

Thanks so much in advance for any quick help on this.

Do you also use DP? You know how in DP there's the little headphone icon at the top left of the Tracks window, and if it isn't highlighted active you won't hear audio during record enabled? Or, like it Pro Tools there's the Input Only Monitor? Perhaps there's something you're missing. Sorry, I'm not familiar w/ Logic

Keith,

Thanks for your input.

Yes, I am very familiar with input monitoring like that. Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not the issue.

That is why I tried it in two different software applications. Live, in fact, is the easiest to use as it shows if there is even signal coming into the program by active LEDs in the input list.

I have reinstalled all the MOTU PCI drivers with no avail.

I'm wondering if I am missing something so simple or it is a Leopard issue.

Thanks again! Any other suggestions?

Make sure your software is looking to the motu asio driver for its inputs. The fresh install will have reset everything, including stuff that you set once and never have to think about ever again.
