MOTU 828MK2 Mic/instruments inputs.

Hi guyz,
I am running out of inputs in my motu 828MK2, and I am thinking of of using the Mic/instruments inputs to connect line outputs from synths & fx.
There is sth that i dont get:
The combo jack uses a high Z TRS input for basses/guitars and a XLR input for low z microphones .
I assume that I can use the xlr inputs for connecting my line level gear, correct ?
The combo TRS input is only high Z so I guess it is not recommended to connect anything there except guitar/basses.
Any thoughts about this will be appreciated.

You can plug in line level interfaces into a high impedance interface. You won't have any problem, except maybe too much gain, which you can turn down to prevent digital overs.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have connected a synth output to the Hi-Z inputs and I cant hear any diference with normal line inputs.
Maybe a spectrum analyser could show the difference but I dont have one.
I ll keep on using them and if I notice anything strange I ll let u know.

They should work great for you. If anything, they may sound better than the rest.
