MacFive2 and GPO

Post by andyst »

I've just taken delivery of MacFive2 and am learning my way round it.
It's supposed to be able to read the GPO samples that I already have but it either says 'cannot load sample' or sometimes doesn't say anything!
The manual (p152) says MachFive2 can read .nki and .nac files, but the files I have in my GPO folder are .nkc and .nks.
I'm all confused! I'm a simple Piano player... help!

From MOTU's tech notes:
Can I use encrypted sound libraries in MachFive?
MachFive is compatible with many sound library and sample file formats. However, encrypted variants of these formats, such as encrypted Kontakt .nks files, are not supported.

Ohh bugger!!
When I bought it I was told it was compatible with GPO! That's £250 down the toilet!

Well, MachFive is good for a lot of things; reading GPO sounds just isn't one of them.
