HTH - Schweats

That's my remedy. In fact, Once a week or so I'll soak the ends of Q-tips in HP and clean away. Since I've been doing that - no blockage.
I do think that it may be eating away at my brain though.

i had a earwax blockage years ago,the doctors told me the cause was the use of q-tips.
they can pack the wax in.
I have never used q-tips since then(1978) and never had the problem again.
Murine earwash solution is what i use if I get too much wax build up.

Wylie E Coyote, I realise many would assume that to be a post-bath toweling you're receiving, but I know better...

That's your smokin' jacket, isn't it?

OK, I got onions, cheese, and olive oil. Something good is coming out of this. Probably going to need some garlic.

Yes Q tips can pack the wax in and now the come so as not to be able to get down to the ear drum.

Garlic helps with the bite marks on your neck.

When I was a kid my mom said if I did not wash my ears I would have potatoes grow out of them, are you sure you don't have potatoes.

It should be kept over the ear for quite a while so probably not something to do in the studio when you've got a client coming (he'd probably smell the onion off your ear anyway). A cut onion next to the bed at night will also help clear sinuses and throat ailments. .....
Mmmm. Onion. That always attracts the LADIES!!!

Seriously, I'm amazed to see which threads go 2-3 pages. We take our ears for granted until something goes funny.

Someone recommended ear muffs or ear plugs when swimming. I would recommend covering the ears for as much of the duration of the healing process as possible. Sometimes plain ear fatigue can be a contributer. Ear rest should be something all of us might want to include into our daily routines...

Imagine that: 1 hour or more each day of total silence other than the time we spend sleeping.

But cell phones, mixing and recording, extended headphone use, 18:99 [sic] surround sound movie theaters that are poorly calibrated 6k dB [very sic] louder than they should be, general environmental noise pollution (sirens, car horns), people gabbing away at restaurants and parties at the tops of their lungs, doors slamming.... they all take their toll.

Ear rest is indispensable.

I've had the troubled eustachian tubes for years now and almost gave up on flying.
The pain and constant fake yawning attempts to get my ears back was awful.
I was doing all kinds of Afrin and other decongestants before flying or even driving up to the mountains.
The results were not great, but better than nothing.

I stumbled on to the product EarPlanes and it has been an awesome solution.
When flying, I put them in for takeoff and landing.
No more pain, no more clogged ears etc.
They also make the flying experience eerily quiet.
Pretty cool.
All is well

EarPlanes, huh? Hmmm... I'll give them a shot. Gotta fly Tuesday....

Ear is still blocked. I'm off ALL phams... I almost NEVER have dairy anyways (I'm a old school atkins guy, and I hate milk anyways...) I try several times a day to unblock my own ears, and i can hear it working, but it sounds/feels like it stops just short of clearing, and then the pressure prohibits me from blowing further. I have blown so hard in the past that I got a MASSIVE case of ideopathic labarynthitis (sp) for a week. I would get random blasts of vertigo and couldn't move. Kinda like getting really bad teenage binge drinking bed spins in the middle of the day for no reason....

Anyhoo... I am also amazed at the amount of response I got from this post. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts. The onion sounded good, but the woman won't permit it!!! LOL.....

Thanks guys!

2 weeks is a long time. Go to a doctor in case you have a sinus infection - you don't want to mess around with your hearing!

Go to a doctor and see if he thinks it's this;

cut out ALL salt for a few weeks, tobacco and caffeine possibly as well.

Hope you don't get tinnitus as a result of this. Your symptoms is the sort of thing I experienced just prior to tinnitus. Holding your nose and
popping your ears is what we used to do when scuba diving - just don't "blow" too hard. You could really hurt yourself.

best of luck.

I have been dealing with this for years as well. I finally discovered that shower tap water can contain fungus and create inner ear blockage so I found out a Q Tip with Tinactin cream carefully used will clean and keep this crap from happening. Only takes an overnight application once a week.

Doctors will never recommend any of this but privately will tell you,:
Stay away from foods you are allergic too and milk products
DO NOT get inner ear wet in showers
Alcohol on Q Tip is helpful once in a while
Clearing ears before flights with a decongestant is a must with ear issues.
