i know there are LOT of topics on this already but i searched through these and i still have questions so, here goes.
i have been happily running an old version of DP (4.52) that i bought a while back and have never felt the need to update.
i recently came into a stunning deal on a used Mackie control surface (MCU) and now i am starting the process of trying to get the software to talk to the device. the MCU needed a firmware update, which i am doing now.
i am running OSX. i want to go DP > 828mkII > MCU.
do i need to install a driver? do i need to upgrade DP? anything else?
thnx for any help.

Re: DP and Mackie MCU
The MCU driver are within DP so If you follow the setps in DP's manual it should work without any fancy method.
BTW My MCU and my two MC extender are difinitely happier since DP6. Scroll wheel more responsive, Record-Enable button during playback etc...

Re: DP and Mackie MCU
well, i have followed all the instructions in the manual (triple checked now) and i can't get the MCU working so if anyone has further advice it would be hugely appreciated. here are some more details:
OSX v10.4.1
DP v4.52
MOTU 828 mk2 (connected to mac via firewire)
MCU v2.1 (connected to 828 via MIDI in/out)
i have created a profile for the mackie control in core audio and the profile and driver do indeed appear to be setup in DP but when i hit ok and exit the controller setup menu i get nothing.
the 828 is getting MIDI data from the MCU but the DP/OSX does not seem to be sending MIDI data to the 828.
thanks again for any thoughts on this matter.

Re: DP and Mackie MCU
You need to :
Create a MCU device and connect it to your 828 MIDI in Audio/MIDI setup. Make sure yo have the right port assignment in A/M Setup. ( 1port In, 1 port out
In DP go to Menu Setup/Control Surface Setup
Select your device and don't forget to enter the 828 as the MIDI destination.
Click enter. You should now see your MCU's fader move to their respective place according to the DP project currently opened.
