Cant record properly...

Post by ripstein »

Hello all.. I am learning to work with my Ultralite MKIII and my Mac Pro G5 and still haven't been able to record anything either with Audio Desk or with Soundtrack, I am connecting a mic to the front connector of the ultralite, and in Cuemix FX I do see the levels meter move ( just a little) with voice on the mic, but the levels that I can record are terribly low.. I think I am doing something wrong, but the manual hasn't been any help... any advice..
regards

Is it possible that your Mic requires 48v Phantom power, and the Ultralite is not providing it?

The mic does need the phantom power... and I have the little switch in the front panel to the setting that is supposed to provide it... I will try to record with a powered mic, ( how can I check if the voltage is being provided?)

Thanks

I have identified my problem... the ultralite is not giving me phantom power for my mic's.. is there some kind of setup to get it going?.. ( I moved the little switch in front, but to no avail).. is my ultralite broken???
thanks

Are you using the UltraLite's power supply? I was thinking maybe it can't provide phantom power when using it bus powered ...

I tried it both with firewire power and also with the external power supply... but it wouldn't work...
