Any thoughts on what is the easiest (subjective I know) and not so expensive software for a band leader to do charts (band - piano, synths, bass, gtr, drums)? I looked at Finale Printmusic - this seems quite close. Or possibly Sibelius One?
The last show I had to be music director, I used DP's scoring for charts, but this is quite cumbersome.
Thanks!
John

Re: Music chart software for live
BY "band" do you mean "typical rock band"?
The main reason this makes a difference, is that it determines how important Part Extraction is.
And that is to a large degree informed by whether you need to transpose parts or not.
Rock instruments are not transposed, so often a more rudimentary notation tool can be used.
Another thing is what form does the notation need to be in? Tabalture? Grand Staff?
For Tablature, take a look at Notion's $79 ($59?) "Progression" notation app. Though it is CPU-intensive.

Re: Music chart software for live
Thanks - this is pop (Cantonese), backing up a couple singers. A variety of stuff, but only individual charts for each player are needed.
