This may be a ridiculous question, but figured I'd ask anyways...
I am currently running a PC, but will soon be purchasing a MacBook Pro as my next computer.
Some software that I use is PC only, so I will continue to use my old PC (and/or run VMWare/Fusion on the Macbook Pro)...
(For example: FL8 (Fruityloops), which I generally output 8 channels of audio out to/through the Ultralite for summing in the analog domain.)
I will be primarily running Live and Max/MSP on the Macbook Pro - which I also intend to output multiple channels of audio from.
My question is: is it possible to use a single Ultralite interface with the two computers at the same time? (there are, after all, two firewire ports on the back of the Ultralite)
The other option is of course, to buy a 2nd audio interface - something I am prepared to do eventually, and am expecting to have to do anyways.
Just curious though if it would be possible to get by with the single Ultralite for the time being...
Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.
Cheers!
Mike.

I use my UltraLite with 2 Mac computers. I see no reason why you could not use it with a PC. Simply install the software, plug in your UltraLite and start recording.

I don't believe the UltraLite (or any MOTU interface) will work with two computers at the same time, though I've never tested it to find out. The second FireWire port is intended for daisy-chaining additional FW devices, not for a second direct connection to a second computer.
