Can't clear MIDI Event in Commands Window

Post by yoonchul »

I am having an issue clearing MIDI events in my commands window and I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. I am able to clear key commands using the delete key but I am unable to do so for assigned MIDI events. The only thing I can do is change them to another MIDI event. This is kind of a hassle especially with the ones that DP has already assigned to MIDI notes as I can't use these notes when playing MIDI instruments. I have been changing the MIDI input device for those events to an inactive MIDI controller from the default "any" to free up the notes on my MIDI controller but I would like to be able to clear them out completely from the commands window. Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance!

That does indeed appear to be a bug in Version 6.x. The best you can do right now is to change the MIDI event to some other instrument that might even be a "dummy" instrument, so that the command can never be invoked. I have a device which is disconnected from my MIDI network, but remains in Apple's "Audio/MIDI Setup" diagram, thus appearing in my MIDI menus. That is the instrument to which I set all my commands which must never be invoked by a MIDI command, but which accidentally or purposefully were set up to receive one.

Thank you shooshie - I'm running 6.0.1 and although it is annoying, it is good to know that I'm not the only one with this issue.

BUMP!

This just bit me on the butt as well. Wasn't this reported to MOTU back at the first release? And it's still there?
