Ultimate fix for pops and squeals

Post by majdid »

after spending months and nights trying to fix my 828 mk3, using vista, xp, various SP's, Agere, TI, VIA, RICOH, Laptops, Desktops, old drivers, new drivers, windows tweaks, buffer tweaks, optimizations... no way!

i am now deeply convinced that the only way to get rid of the squeals and high pitched sounds is ultimately throwing the 828 from a window or replacing it with something else!

Be sure to record that with your video camera and post it on Youtube. I'd love to know how that looks!

this isn't even funny. Has anyone found a fix for vista?

I don't have enough money to buy a new unit, and this piece of junk is stopping me from playing live shows.

PLease anyone help.

Have you contacted MOTU directly?
Cheers,

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

My suggestion exactly. If you tried everything like you did, the chances are that your unit maybe faulty. If you still have warranty, there's no need to be frustrated, MOTU would solve the problem for you.

well i did but in 3 months, they answered twice, saying respectively "do you have the latest firmware?" and "have you tried installing the latest drivers". it is not a faulty unit, it works exept the motu signature sound (high pitched sounds) that are coming once or twice during a session. i was able to reduce the happening frequency of the squeals by moving from a RICOH FW chipset to an AGERE and TI Chipsets, BUT the horrible high pitched sounds are still there..
