Have just checked DP5, it seems like this Preference setting is new to DP6.

Cheers

BTW, whenever I open a DV Quicktime in DP, it is always displayed in 4:3 in the Movie window, even though I could swear I exported it from FCP as 16:9..... any ideas???

Cheers

Thanks for checking, Stephen!
That's great news about the preferences in DP6!

Now, for the 4:3 problem - I'm getting the same and have found no fix.
Mac Pro 2x2.66 DualCore 12 GB RAM, currently running a very stable 6.02 on 10.4.11 - VIs like PLAY, Kontakt 3.5, Omnisphere, Stylus... lots of sample libraries.

Actually, I have just discovered that if you hold shift when resizing the Movie window, you can drag into just about any shape/aspect you want...... it does add a little stress to the CPU though!!! They recommend control resizing so that the movie snaps to a size that is easier on the CPU (half, quarter, x2 etc...).

All well worth experimenting with!!!

The reason a 16x9 DV quicktime displays as a 4x3 in DP is because you are most likely exporting an anamorphic 16x9 quicktime file. So the image is still 720x480, but the pixel aspect ratio is such that the file displays as 16x9 in FCP or any other program that reads the anamorphic meta data in the Quicktime file. I don't think Quicktime itself actually displays the correct pixel aspect, so therefor DP doesn't either. The shift button trick is pretty cool though, would be a good temporary fix for audio post purposes. If you need to save on the CPU resizing the image, I would export the DV file at 840x480, that should get you in the ball park for a 16x9 image.
