Manuals and specidfications for MOTU interfaces

Post by echidna »

anybody know where to get specifications eg THD +N for motu interfaces or manuals.
i'm interested mainly for the firewire interfaces. Motu doesn't seem to publish the specs.

crap, I don't believe it, you can't get the F***N manual or specs anywhere. Who tries to sell stuff that you can't check out 1st. I'll buy something different now.
Makes me wonder about the sound/ converters in these units. people say the Konnekt 48's sound better, and their dynamic range and noise specs aren't that great on paper, so the MOTU must be pretty damn poor if they are hiding the specs. What a joke, I have downloaded manuals and specs for pretty much every converter on the market so I can check out the features, MOTU was on my serious consideration list until I found I could get no details.

Ummm... welcome to the forum. I would suggest contacting MOTU perhaps. There is a thread elsewhere about this and I think perhaps someone did post some specs. Try a search on the model of the interface you're actually interested in plus the word "specs," etc. and something may turn up. There's already a long thread/rant about this issue here:

Yes well, sorry, it's a bit of a rude entrance........... but then, I've already searched high and low and turned up absolutely nothing except physical specs, no. of in out etc.
Out of at least 10 brands of interface MOTU is the only one that doesn't have PDF manuals and doesn't publish specs.

cheers Greg

What can I tell you? :D I guess you can take it up with them. I'm sure they know by now that there are people who would like to have these things.
