828 Mk3 on Macbook Pro Running Vista Ultimate and Sonar

Very discouraged. Spent a lot of money on a new Macbook Pro.. a copy of Vista Ultimate, Sonar 8 and a brand new 828 Mk 3. Guess what, the Cuemix console won't open because it "doesn't see" the Motu unit.

Sounds ridiculous because the Motu is passing audio in and out of Sonar with no problem.

I reinstalled the Motu software several times with the same result, and even got through to Tech support (surprise). I was told to download the Vista firewire driver from the Motu site. Installed it.. and the system crashed, and won't come back.

There has to be someone out there who has this system. Motu even runs ads of the 828 hooked up to the new Macbook pro. After spending more than four thousand dollars.. the last thing I need is to make a SCIENCE PROJECT out of hooking up this stuff.

Should I take it the Motu back. And does anyone have a good option for a digital interface that actually works.

Rebooted in safe mode. Shut it down a couple of times, and it works. Well, at least the Cuemix console shows up. Hopefully there are no other land mines. Relieved i don't have to spend $1500 on a fireface.
