when i was a kid my granny bought my uncle doug a gretsch astro jet guitar. it was red. he still has it. he took it to a shop in san diego where he lives years back and an employee said eddie van halen offered to buy it but he kept it. wish i had a picture to share. im just a lowly name dropper without a proper image, please pardon. oh my friend in town just got a black rickenbacher bass like geddy lee played way back when it has 2 places to plug in cords and there was some component like a capacitor or something in the case that i think came from the pickup or something. he explained it to me but i was drinking alot of hoegaardens that day, a little fuzzy.

I saw this joke that started with James and had to do a double stop and look, it is really bent the way you pulled it off.

I used to live in Florida, and I remember seeing two communities for old, burnt-out guitarists. As I recall, one was called Palm Mutes, and the other was Pinched Harmonics.

I think we should barre further puns; it's really getting to be a stretch. It's got me wound up. The tension is killing me.

At least as a guitarholic, you're on a bridge to somewhere.

Jim, speaking of reading catalogs, my wife can't understand why I take the Sweetwater catalog into the bathroom for periods of peace and quiet (2 young boys). I have a huge list of guitars, just haven't had the time to buy them yet :D :D :D :D

Those beautiful curves, those f holes, and the strap button on the bottom. We know why you take the "Sweet" water book in with you... THe remedy for this, of course, is to request they put Brad's picture somewhere in the catalogue. There you'd be, fretting with pleasure only to find your straight neck has suddenly gone warped. You might even find yourself with a case of brook stones!

The Sweet water catalog is better than Play Boy. Me too and as the guitars I want cost more and more the bucks play in to it as well but were not done yet.

James I do own one Dean guitar.

It's strange that I haven't found Brad's picture in there - even Sweetwater's boss is prominent in there, and all the other sales guys - that leads me to ask - is Brad really who he says he is, or is he a spy for Audiomidi.com, or Musician's friend..? Or, is does he have a different position at sweetwater, like car parking technician, hygiene engineer :D :D :D :D ?

(unison)Hi Bill(/unison)

I had it under control I thought - then I fell off the wagon and bought two guitars last year. And I'm researching purchases of more.

On the list:
electric sitar thingy like Dave just bought. (Hey - I have like every Lemon Pipers song ever recorded on my iPod - no, I won't grow up).
5 string electric bass (will probably let the 4 string go - so no net gain)
some kind of shredder electric with whammy bar - this is currently served by my focus strat, but I'm not nuts about how it plays. Maybe one o' them pointy guitars like James likes? I've not spent much time with them and am willing to take advice on that - however the purchase is not urgent just now.
Martin acoustic - I love my Taylor, but I want something more strummy and less sparkly sometimes.

Also, given my gear and time is split between San Diego and Bainbridge Island, I'm apt to buy a duplicate of something or other just to have one in each place.
DP 11.newest on MacBook Air M2 24/2T
Korg Kronos Klassic Keyboard 88, Line 6 Helix
Thousands of $'s worth of vintage gear currently valued in the dozens of dollars.

You can go back and edit it. Shred it if you wish...
