It would be good to have some reports from other people using DP6 to know whether it works or not for them. This way Martin who normally does Mac support and is responsible for the Mac build of the TP engine has some more information as soon as he's able to have a look at the thread.

James Steele wrote:Hi Roel... I know you're not expecting a compatibility issue, but I can tell you from where I'm sitting, I'm running DP6 on OS 10.5.4 Leopard and I've installed the new version-- it killed the old one-- and I have no TruePianos. If this isn't a *compatibility* issue, I'm not sure what you'd call it.
I'll wait to see if other DP6 + 10.5.4 users are having difficulties. All I need to do is figure out a way to get back to 1.0.2 where I was before I tried this. My bad for not making sure I kept a copy of the 1.02 installer.
Well from what I gather so far it may be a combination of the latest Leopard OS release 10.5.4 and DP6. That's what I'm on.
Of course, I just hosed myself further, because I tried installing the 1.0.4 Trial installer (didn't help) and watched in horror is I probably overwrote the Diamond module with a new one. Hopefully the new Diamond Module will still work with the old 1.02 engine.
I'll do a support ticket soon as I have time, but have to rush out and do some errands. This was going to be just a quick upgrade... check to see if it works... then out the door. Such is life with computers!
v1.4.0 modules are not backwards compatible with older engine versions. Also the trial version Diamond module is incompatible with the full version engine and the trial version engine is incompatible with the full version Diamond. I guess it's good to realize that Diamond is only a relatively small download.

Right... but basically I can't get the earlier version of Diamond any more can I? It's not crucial, but it means I did indeed overwrite Diamond and one I reinstall 1.02, if the plug in works again (as it did before) the Diamond module is no good unless I find the old version somewhere.
Live and learn about installing new versions without backing up everything. I will be spending some time just to get back to square one. I did send a tech support request using the link at the site. Thanks.

FYI, I trashed the 1.04 version of TruePianos standalone and the AU plug, then ran a 1.01 installer I still had on hand. On subsequent launch DP6 actually saw the TP plug and ran Audio Unit Examination as it should have. TruePianos 1.01 is working now and playing the Diamond module as well. Go figure.
I'm going to trash 1.01 and run the 1.04 installer again and see if I get lucky this time. I hoping deleting the prior version manually prior to installation might help. Worth a shot.
Sorry, I was off the grid for awhile and just saw all these posts. I can report that it does not work in my DP6 with 10.4.11. My earlier comments were after playing with the stand-alone application which does work just fine. Sorry for the confusion. It appears that the AU plugin is not being found in DP6. BTW, I, like many others, swapped out the MAS AudioUnit Support.bundle that came with DP6 for the one in DP5.13.

It does show up in AudioUnit Manager, but was shown as unchecked. I checked the box next to TruePianos, but it still doesn't show up, even after rebooting.
It does not show up in DP5.13 on my computer. Neither DP5.13 nor 6 showed that it was scanning new components.
I do see the TruePianos.component (v. 1.4.0) in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.

I tried putting the DP6 MAS AudioUnit Support.bundle back in place of the DP5.13 version and rebooted. Unfortunately, TruePianos is still not seen by DP.
I have also sent a support message to TruePianos referencing this thread.

I just installed DP 5.13 and looked into the problem and can see that it only happens with PPC platform.
I have just created a new installer package for Truepianos v1.40 which fixes this problem. This installer replaces the old 1.40 in our customer section:
The current plugins other than TruePianos are quite old mainly free plugs of which some have a commercial Pro version. Don't expect any of them to be 'ported'. We'll be focusing on TruePianos v2.0 for the rest of the year and if time permits on another planned project as well.
We're pretty much loaded since next to what we're doing under the 4Front name our team members are also working on projects for other companies which we can't talk about.

Can't wait!!!

I know, if you tell us, you'd have to kill us.

Will this work with my Mac Mini? I'm running DP 5.5 (I think) and I'd love to have a great piano, but not if it totally bogs down the system.
Thanks!
Fred
Download the demo Fred. I doubt it will bog down your mini. One of the great things about TruePianos is how light on the processor is for the quality of sound you get.
