Tascam has the IF-FW firewire expansion card for it's DM-3200 and 4800 digital mixing boards.
They claim compatibility with Digital Performer for 32 busses in AND out between DP and the board via firewire.
I have seen PC's that absolutely CANNOT function properly between Sonar and this FW expansion card.
But I have never tried it before on a mac.
Can anyone please tell me if they have successfully used DP and this mixing board via FW 400 in this way?
Also, if this indeed functions properly, how many busses/outputs in TOTAL are then available between DP and these boards?
Getting a handle on how many actual discrete busses/outputs are available in this configurations is a bit mind-numbing.
Thank you!
Tascam IF-FW/DM-3200 with DP working?

Re: Tascam IF-FW/DM-3200 with DP working?
I have been using it successfully since the introduction of the IF-FW/DM with the 3200. And have been mixing back through the DM with all 32 channels and finding my mixes so much for transparent and full. If I have one suggestion for MOTU it is to rewrite their summing algorithm because ever since I went to mixing native 'in the box' I have not been pleased with the results. Finally I have found a work around. I bring everything back into the mixer and let the mixer sum the audio, like we did in the old analog days. LOL
