Post by OTREVOR »

Please can you help me, guys?
I know there is a free plugin from apple to pith shift on DP 4.6.1 but I can not find it.
so, do you know where is it? where can I get it?
how is it name and what do I have to do in order to use it on DP 4.6.1?
:?:
and in the other hand, what do you know about the Serato plugin?
and is there a good plugin you recommend for low pitch shift 1 or 2 half tones a final stereo song ? and for pitch stretch?

Apple pitch is in the apple plugs sub-menu.

If I'm not mistaken, the serato plugs are ProTools only...

Just a silly question, is there a reason for not using the pitch control functions built into DP? IIRC that feature was in v 4.6

Sometimes I use apple's plug when I need to quickly hear something at a different a pitch without altering the file. It's fast and works fairly well.

.

Out of all the pitch shifting and time stretching plug ins out there, which one would you guys say it's the best, in terms of the least amount of artifacts, and best results?

I had heard Serato was the best in the market. Is this so?

Never mind... I just read in their site it's a ProTools only plug

What other great alternatives are out there?
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

The thing is that I just want to try this Apple plug because Im not particularly happy with DP's results for pitch shifting an entire song.

I second Melodyne as the best one for AU/MAS. But the Apple Pitch AU is surprisingly good... Before I shelled out for Melodyne it has saved my ass repeatedly.

DPs built-in pitch shift works well on some but certainly not all program material. I've gotten really good results with voice and winds and similar, but it repeatedly crapped out on guitars and most anything that's not monophonic or has substantial transient content. Apple Pitch AU has successfully transposed strummed guitar chord tracks for me when DP failed. Go figure...

Reaper is a DAW in beta stage for OSX. I've tried it out and they have a great set of pitch and stretching tools in there. You can download and use the demo as long as you need to convince yourself.
