Machfive v2 crackling sounds...

Hi all, 1st posting here, and hopefully someone can help out.

Been toying with Machfive recently with Cubase 4, and have found that I'm getting some crackling with the playback when I use monophonic layers and MONO button active. Here's the scenario:

I've got a simple C3 single cycle saw wave I've generated, and put it in Machfive spanning C1 to C4, 0 to 127 velocity. I then duplicated the keygroup (so a 2nd layer), and detune slightly to create a 'Reece' bass. However, when I edit the layers and turn both to MONO, and put on the MONO button (as I only want to hear one note from each layer), I get crackling. I can't see why this should be a problem, as streaming a single sample which is a tiny mono file should not be causing this. I'm using a Quadcore Intel QX6700 with 3.5Gb ram, on XP SP3 (been upgrading 'as we go' through the service packs from SP2 to recently SP3 via the small Microsoft update 'chunks').

Anyone has any similar problems?
