Recording into a 828mk3 - mic in or analog in?

I'm recording vocals, through a mic and external preamp - is it best to record through an analog in on the interface, or through one of the 2 mic preamps? (I'm lazy, I haven't compared the two yet, but I will today - something tells me the mic pre on the 828mk3 would further color the sound. Actually I'm going to do a comparison between preamps - the mic is a MA200, and the 3 different preamps are a Neve/Amek 9098, a dbx 376, and don't laugh, a Behringer tube preamp. Since the MA200 is a tube mic, my money is on the Neve , well, maybe the Behr...... can't say it)

If you are using an external preamp you'll want to bypass the 828's preamps, as the external preamps' outs will be line-level, not mic-level...use the analog ins.
