yes yes - we're using 4.5 on 10.2.8 still. it's always worked fine, so never bothered to mess with a good thing.
however...
this new 4.6 is way too tempting. any reason why i shouldn;t attempt the upgrade?

Yes, DP 4.6 will work on 10.2. However, 10.3 is the minimum _supported_ configuration, so don't expect tech support to help you if you have problems.
