BFD2 And DP Bug

Post by lex132 »

BFD2 is causing my pan and send knobs to glitch. They jump all the way to max or minimum respectively when I touch them. Actually , it's all "knob" adjustments AND audio file editing with the selector such as fades and selecting an area to edit / delete / trim
I'm running 5.13 on a Mac Pro OSX.4.11 And BFD2.05.10
Surely someone else is using BFD2 and has encountered this problem. I saw a post on the same problem in the FXpansion forums but never found any reply / answers.

Thanks!

Re: Pan / Send Knob Freak Out

I'm running 5.13 on a Mac Pro. This doesn't happen on a blank new session template. Only once I have audio data and plug-ins active.
For example : UAD1 Neve 88RS and BFD2
With nothing but these active the knobs go haywire.
Anyone seen this?
I have the latest updates etc. Help I'm going mad

Tried calling support but it's seems to be impossible to get through. I don't have time to play e-mail tag with tech support. I use their product to make a living , maybe I shouldn't , but -I'm a (frustrated) die hard.

Thanks!
First, try disabling automation and see if it stops. If it does, then you probably have something on a track. More likely something on several tracks that is sending data to the knobs. If they get several different messages at once, they will certainly freak. Then you'll have to go into your tracks and delete the culprits. Filter view (in list view) is probably your best bet.

It's actually a BFD2 bug but I can't find anything in their forums where they respond to the issue.

At least one form of this bug is acknowledged by FX ..... but probably still worth adding more bug reports with your specific info though.

Whenever I get a GUI reaction to BFD2 I simply close the BFD2 window. That seems to do the trick for me.

Yeah, I've experienced the exact same glitch with BFD2 and T-Racks... never found a solution, either. My work around is to freeze the BFD tracks and disable the VI while I tweak the knobs on any T-Racks instances. Or my quick and dirty method is to just hold down on the knobs and eventually get a sense of where they're gonna stop when I let go.

Yeah; close the BFD window and the mouse pointer goes back to normal.

Confirming the simple solution here too: Simply close the BFD window when you're done editing BFD. That's all. A nuisance, but not a show stopper.

Same here, just for the record. I like BFD so much I work around it.

Yep , this works. Thanks so much for your response. An easy enough work around until there's an update that fixes it. I've still not received a response from FX by the way , so I really appreciate this forum.

Thanks!

Hi, I'm not getting that bug. Are you guys using BFD2.0.10, and TRackS 1.3X? Also, there's a public beta of BFD 2.1 online.
