Re: Los Angeles MOTU / DP Users Group!
OK,
Here we go, I did it.
I have booked the Community Room in Farmer's Market, (3rd and Fairfax) in Los Angeles for Saturday, February 26th, 5pm to 8 pm (although we can go longer if we wish).
Bring your powerbooks, tech issues, solutions, knowledge, passion, etc.
(even though the Farmer's Market asked me to not have us park in Farmer's Market, I don't think they will really find out, can aslo park in the Grove Parking lot).
If you park in Farmer's Market lot, I recommend you buy a coffee or soda or something and get parking validated, up to you.
e-mail me if you plan on attending, or with any other questions, etc.

Good work, Macguitarman! I'm only sorry I'll be on the road for the first meeting. I'd love to increase my "circle of DP friends". Particularly since most of you seem to know so much more than I do about DP and Mac! Also, this group provides yet another good networking opportunity. I hope there is some way I can find out what went on when I get back. Anyway, I'll look forward to the 2nd meeting... good luck!

Bummer. I can't make it on that weekend. Oh well, I'll toss back a couple pints in honor of the gathering. Hopefully I'll make the next one. Someone be sure to take some snapshots for us non attendees.

I was excited to hear about the meeting until I realized my 9 yr. old lil' Barbara Streisand-like dynamo is singing the national anthem at UCLA basketball that night. If anything changes though...I'll be there!

Re: Los Angeles MOTU / DP Users Group!
Good Question,
It looks like we have many interested, but it would be good to get an actual count.
Can those planning on attending the first meeting of the Los Angeles MOTU Users Group at Farmer's Market (3rd and Fairfax) between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm, this Saturday night, Feb 26, kindly e-mail me at macguitarman@mac.com (John).
thanks so much,
John

Re: Los Angeles MOTU / DP Users Group!
One more thing...
We could use anyone bringing their PowerBooks for demo purposes, and Soulful Strut has volunteered a LCD projector, but we could use a screen to project to.
If anyone is game on bringing their setup, monitors, etc. that is cool.
Here is an agenda off the cuff.
DP 4.52
Mach Five 1.2 and new Mach 5 2.0
Plugins that we have to have
I can give a talk on Mac OS 10.3x optimization / system setups, drives etc.
If someone knows Stylus RMX, has it on a laptop, etc. that would be the coolest, I have been wanting to see this in action for a while now.
Technical issues and solutions, Tips, etc.
Bring business cards, etc, I think I am brining my Taylor 912, just for kicks, we are musicians.
The food in Farmers Market is awesome if you're hungry.
If you can think of anything else, great.
This is going to be a blast.

Re: Los Angeles MOTU / DP Users Group!
I have spoken to Terry at Universal Audio. He might send over a rep to meet some of us if we have any questions about their gear, UAD-1 etc...
