Quite repeatable: i.e. I'll copy a time selection, paste it to a new location, then maybe edge edit the new soundbite, or else slip edit. All of a sudden the new soundbite will have random digital noise in the playback. The original soundbite in the original location will playback fine.
Then, if I merge the soundbite into a new file, all is well again. I can then recreate the problem with about 50% likelihood if I edit the new soundbite again (the one I just created via merge, that is now problem-free). If I then undo the edit, the problem remains. If I then merge again, it goes away.
This is a new problem, but since I just upgraded to a MacPro, everything is changed.
8-core MacPro 28GHz, 10G RAM, 10.5.3
MOTU PCIe 424, 2408 mk3,
All current drivers
DP 5.13
No plug-ins instantiated, tiny project (three stereo pairs; I'm playing around with the temp track to map out what I'll do, so there's literally nothing but the films stereo production audio and the temp track I'm editing around in...
DP is set to 48kHz, as is of course CoreAudio. DP is playing back a movie file.
Any bright ideas???
