mach 5 1 converter?

Post by ottestad »

If any MOTU employees read this. Is there no way of creating some way of opening M5 vsn 1 files in M5 vsn 2 on an intel mac? I see lots of people with the same basic problem and I have a gazillion songs saved in the M5 1 set-up.

Any Universal Binary app can be forced to open under Rosetta, meaning that its PowerPC code will be executed instead of its native Intel code (find the app in the Finder, Get Info, and check the "Open with Rosetta" box). Since the app is running as a PowerPC app, it will be able to load PPC plug-ins, such as MachFive v1. This will let you launch your DAW, open your old projects using M5 v1, save a M5 performance file, then load that into M5 v2. Make sure when you're done with M5 v1, you go back and turn off the "Open with Rosetta" checkbox.
"I don't see any method at all, sir."
