I feel that motu maybe showing a real lack of professionalism. Just reading this thread is very disturbing.
I don't think moving to PT or Logic is the answer, especially since as you say DP5.13 works very well. New major releases from PT and Logic were similarly, uh, "eventful."

These to me are classic early release problems. We know that MOTU changed their AU implementation substantially, plus added the whole pre-render business etc. So this will take a while to sort out. It just goes to show you that if one depends on software for work, one should never upgrade before the new version matures. That's true for OS (Leopard had its issues fresh out of the gate) as well as DAWs.

I'm adding Amplitube SVX to the list of plugins that crash 6.01 immediately.

While I do hate to say this. I have not used DP in over a month, doing all of my work in Logic. DP6 is a joke! There are so many AU plugs that I use that DP6 won't see or that crash the program. What is up with MOTU? I am trying to be optimistic but they may be losing me as a customer.

Peace

Thank you. I'm still waiting to upgrade, and I do use Amplitube SVX, so thanks for the info.

Hey, any problems on Intel w/ DP 6.01 and the rest of the Amplitube plugs (AT2, AT Jimmy Hendrix Experience, and X-Gear) (and if so, what OS version?) -- anyone?? Thanks

Why not stick with DP5 until DP6 is housebroken? For me DP5 was always superior to Logic 8 in most aspects, at least those that are important to me...

You can add Liquid Mix to the mix. It boots up, but the GUI is glitchy. I can't change any controls without them resetting to zero. I'm running 10.4.11 on an imac intel core duo @2.16GHz with 3G RAM.

Can't wait for an update,

Basically that is what I am doing. I have always used Logic and DP. I just can't believe how BAD DP6 is! I have been a DP user since it was Performer and just hate to see the direction DP is going. Hopefully it will get better!

im using PPC / 6.01 / tiger 10.4.11 ... havent had much problems since i checked ''always run in real time'' option... im using NI akoustik piano with no problems...also Addictive drums and BFD 1.5..turning that option on also made Auto-tune (ver 4) work..
just my 2 cents..
PowerMac PPC G5 Dual Processor 2.0Ghz 4GB RAM 720GB HD OSX 10.5.7 (Leopard)

Fabfilter has updated their Pro-C and Volcano 2 plugins to work with DP6!

Good news!

Still waiting on a response from Soundtoys.

Melodyne not working is a total deal killer for me. I rely on it heavily at
the moment, working with a singer who, shall we say, is "all over the place"
vocally, and that's a charitable comment.

Unique Synthesizer 1.03 (latest) from Sugar Bytes will work until you save project and then re-open. Then it will be dead.

Mentioned this in another post, but probably is more suited here:

T-Racks (1.22 and 1.3)

If try to apply it to a soundbite (not use it as an insert on a track), none of the parameters can change while previewing the audio. Knobs and switches just sit stubbornly in place. Once I stop preview, everything's fine, but that just means a lot of trial and error if I can't hear the changes real time.

I can get Amplitube SVX to work OK as long as I don't run it in mono-stereo mode. Write a note to Jason at IK Multimedia about it. The more the better...
