BFD2 export is delayed and out of sync, any tips?
Hello all,
When using BFD2 with DP 5.13, the exported audio from BFD2 is slightly delayed and out of sync when imported back into the DP session. I have tried a variety of buffer settings and toggled auto delay compensation on and off to no avail. I have have tried disengaging all other plug-ins other than BFD 2 to no avail. I have tried using both the "Range" and "Host" export modes within BFD2 which still yield the same delayed result. The only solution I could come up with was to just manually nudge all the tracks by hand into roughly the right place, however, it would be nice if the exported audio from BFD2 was accurate to begin with. I appreciate any insight or advice! Thanks a lot!
For reference: I'm running DP 5.13 and BFD2 2.0.5.10 on an 8-core Mac Pro with 4GBs of Ram.

I had similar results with my limited tests w/ DP 6.01 and BFD 2.03. I also found that the export was truncated on the end. I would report this to FXPANSION. I'll bet it's a bug on their end.

Just wondering if anybody has any thoughts or experience with this scenario? I have checked FXpansion's site, but did not come across any definite solutions. Appreciate any feedback!

I use BFD 2 but track everything in real time. Would you please explain your process you are doing.

Re: BFD2 export is delayed and out of sync, any tips?
I've been doing mostly orchestral and jazz lately, so even though I have also experienced this problem, I don't remember the details.
Nevertheless, I do seem to recall that by starting a measure or two before data content begins, I had better luck.
These days I almost exclusively use BTD for freezing MIDI tracks to audio, and rarely ever have trouble with that approach. But I don't think this feature was added until version 6.01 and you're using 5.13.

So you manually bus out all individual drum tracks in real time? Is there any particular reason why you prefer not to use BFD2's internal bounce? Did you experience a delayed bounce as well?waxman wrote:I use BFD 2 but track everything in real time. Would you please explain your process you are doing.

i was experiencing a similar problem. When i brought the individual drum tracks back into the session (from bfd's export), i just simply nudged them back the same amount of samples of my buffer at the time of export (i had been using 128). everything seemed to line up perfectly from there!
hope this helps

Re: BFD2 export is delayed and out of sync, any tips?
Thanks! After checking different forums with no definitive answer, I guess this might just be some unresolved bug with BFD2. I didn't have this problem with superior drummer. I guess always having to manually nudge the BFD2 bounced tracks back to where it should be starting is a workaround I'm going to have to endure for now...unless FXpansion decides to fix this one day in a patch. Who knows.

Re: BFD2 export is delayed and out of sync, any tips?
Oh, right, now I remember that indeed I experienced this problem when using BTD mode vs. real-time recording.
Luckily, BFD is one of the few power-hungry and memory-intensive plug-ins that I can still track successfully in real-time on my G4 PPC iMac. I don't think I've ever been bitten by the latency-compensation issue when using it in real-time.
