I will be doing a live multitrack recording next month. I will be using 3 8-channel preamps with ADAT output. I would like to route the ADAT output to my Traveler/828mk3 recording rig and to an Alesis HD24 so that I can run 2 recordings such that one is not dependent on the other. I have been searching for a solution, and this is what I have come up with:

Are there any other options? This seems to be overly functional for my purposes.
The other solution would be to route the analog outputs from the the preamplifiers to the HD24 and the ADAT output to the MOTU's.

Re: Sending ADAT output to Two recording devices
how about running the ADATs to the HD24, then the audio outs on the HD24 to the MOTUs?
perhaps even ADAT-optical-HD24-optical-MOTU?
I dont think you can do a split with optical leads, but i would try connecting them in series, hitting the record ready button and seeing what happens.
go HD24 first, MOTU second by the way.
