828MK2 & Boot Camp: Pos vs neg experiences?

Hi,

I had posted this under MOTU Hardware and Windows before, but wasn't getting luck with replies. After careful consideration, I think this is sort of more a Mac OS X/Boot Camp issue, so it probably should be under here:

<<I'm considering getting a Macbook Pro, as my PC laptop is now getting a bit up there in age. I'd like the flexibility of having both OS's readily available, but almost all of my software is PC-based, so I really need to be able to run some heavy-duty audio apps with my Firewire 828 MKII in Bootcamp using Windows XP.

However, I've been seeing a lot of negative things about Firewire implementation in Bootcamp, and all sorts of problems from crackling, to no audio, to bandwidth problems and crashes, etc. But I'm wondering whether people are only posting when there are problems, and if there are many users for whom this works without issue who we're not hearing from. I know MOTU doesn't officially support drivers in Bootcamp yet, but I'm wondering if anybody can share their experiences with this setup, positive or negative.
