Grouping Takes

I'm still on 5.13 - haven't quite dared bite the bullet yet! Here's my question...

If I'm recording some multi-track audio, I like to Create New Takes for each new take. Is there a way of grouping the Takes so that I just have to select another take on one track and all the others follow? So if I switch, say, the choir track to Take 3, the piano track will also automatically change to Take 3. Just had a heart stopping moment when I forgot, and ended up listening to the choir from one take and the piano from another - yuk!

You can do that with track grouping, including temporary groups.

Yup - that's what I would have thought. But it doesn't seem to work for me. I've grouped the tracks and all editing functions ARE grouped - I cut, fade, edge edit on one track and all the others follow. BUT select Take 2 in on track and the others remain resolutely on Take 1.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Go in and edit the group to work with Takes. You're just not seeing it, but it's there. I'd give you step-by-step, but I don't have access to DP right now.

You have to select 'custom' group and click on the take buttons. Not sure why they didn't include takes in the 'edit' group, but they didn't.

If you set it as an 'edit' group, then change it to 'custom' it will come up with all the 'edit group' settings already clicked in the custom box, which makes it quicker to just add the take settings without having to go through the whole list setting everything else up.
