I thought I saw this on the board before but I can't seem to find it so I would like to ask if anyone can help me with my problem. I purchased a new MacBook Pro and I installed 5.13 on it with no problems. I just got DP6 and when trying to install I cant get past the Name and Key Code window. I put my info in as supposed to with DP6 Install Disk and it loops back to the menu. I got through to MOTU Techs (miracle in itself) and he told me to repair permissions then restart, which I did and the same thing happened. I thought I read someone had had the same problem but didn't restart and repaired permissions with the installer window open and then it worked but not for me. I removed all MOTU stuff from the MBP and same problem exist's. I uninstalled and reinstalled nothing. I also thought some one had to use a external DVD Drive to launch and I haven't tried
1. Do I need previous versions of DP on MBP before I load DP6. I have everything from 4.0 up and have been using 5.13 on my Studio Mac PPC
2. I have Waves 6.0 update (SSL 4000, Platinum, and Auto Tune) has anybody used these plugins with MBP and DP6 ?
3. I am using Leopard 10.5.4 I believe and have Waves 6 on my production PPC with no problems.
4. I also downloaded DP6.0.1 upgrade and tried to install as well nothing.
I appreciate any help as this is a great board usually has everything I need thanks

Re: DP6 installation problems
Something weird is going on with the DP6 authorization. I had the problem where I couldn't get past the key code screen and the solution was to reinstall 5.13 and authorize it, then install DP6. Someone else found that the opposite was true. They had to remove the hidden DP5 authorization to get DP6 to work. It doesn't make any sense and for some, MOTU tech support hasn't been much help. Somethin's funky in MOTUville and no one seems to have a good handle on it. Check out this thread:

Re: DP6 installation problems
Thanks for your response. I was unable to find any auth type files and then I loaded DP6 on my Mac Dual 2 Gig on a different partition 10.4.11 and all worked fine except no my waves 6 stuff wont work with 10.4.11 so I a bit confused. I thought MOTU would of made it easier to go forward not backward. I have some major sessions starting today so I cant take the chance trying anything on 10.5.4 on the PPC. I guess I'll wait for some more info but I'm still needing help thanks

Re: DP6 installation problems
Here is what I received from MOTU tech, but I updated to 10.5.5 and reinstalled DP6 and it worked right away without doing any of this. thanks
To fix this issue you must remove the Authorization files for Digital Performer 6.0.
To remove Digital Performer 6's Authorization file under Tiger, go to Applications> Utilities and open the Terminal.
In the Terminal type cd /
Next type: ls
And then cut and paste the following text into the Terminal:
rm Auth-DigitalPerformer\ 6.0
Your Digital Performer 6 Authorization file should now be removed.
You should repair disk permissions at this point.
Go to Applications> Utilities> Disk Utility. Choose First Aid then highlight the hard drive that your operating system is installed on. Click Repair disk permissions. Restart your computer once this is complete.
Once your computer has restarted run the Digital Performer 6 installation disk again. Enter your name and keycode when prompted.
