DP code, and pitch correction

Post by soundmaster »

hi guys, i was wondering why Logic pro has the edge over all the other apps including DP in the low latency and CPU efficiency department. After all Dp is a dedicated Mac app and has been out for years; you would have thought MOTU would have long since caught up with Logic in these areas.
Also can someone tell me if the pitch correction in DP is good for vocals, and if it rivals dedicated programs like Autotune and Melodyne. Thanks. :?:

Im not sure what you mean, but DP both runs more CPU efficient (small margin) and far better latency here for me on both my machines.

The pitch correction is quite good and more intuitive than what logic offers, but melodyne is a step above anything that exists out there. Haven't tried autotune EVO fully yet, but ii seems to be more or less the same 'sound' they've been pushing for years.
