Two Computer Set-up Will this work?

Hi,
About to receive Mac Pro Quad and am planning the following set-up as
expansion from my current G5 4.61 set-up. I've got a major project in 4.61 and I can't risk too many lost plug-ins or files for that matter. Any replies or suggestions would be most appreciated. I've found some threads here where similar hardware based two computer set-ups have been discussed (Thanks Frodo) and have learned from them. This is my plan. Thanks in advance.

MASTER....Mac Pro Quad, Leopard, DP 5.13, MOTU 896 Mk3, Fastlane
Radikal 2.2 (which I believe I will have to run thru MIDI rather than USB as I do now in 4.61 and Tiger.) HEDD 192 as AD/DA

word clock from Hedd 192 feeding 896 Mk3 via wordclock (External clock)

firewire hard drive for DP

SLAVE...G5 2.7, Tiger 10.47 DP 4.61 ( retaining ability to run projects as they exist as safety net) but running only MIDI and V.I.'s Mach Five 1, Vienna Instruments, BFD 1, Sampletank 2.5, FAB four, others (won't need to upgrade any of these to leopard) MOTU 986, Fastlane #2

Use another DP file for MIDI to run in sync with quad

second firewire hard drive for DP4.61 Virtual Instruments only files

connect 896 to 896Mk3 via external word clock ....and AES/EBU for audio

fastlanes connected via MIDI of course

MIDI controllers connected straight to slave via fastlane 2 so no need to worry about latency (I hope)

Eventually record VI's to Quad master via AES/EBU thu HEDD as audio

I'm hoping to upgrade Waves to 5.97 on Quad and keeping 5.X on G5 so that I won't lose anything on G5 if I need it. Not sure if waves will let both exist.

I'll have all the equipment in place later this week so this is hypothetical. I'm sure I'll learn some things the hard way when I plug in. Thanks
