Arturia,or Trilogy For bass?
I Tried the arturia Moog modulator v,and arp 2600,
And found that it sounded great for basses and synths.How is trilogy compared to this for Bass & Synths?

Re: Arturia,or Trilogy For bass?
Depends on what kinds of bass sounds you need. If it's all techno, electronica basses, then you'll get more use from Arturia (you have a major softsynth on your hands then) but not really any acoustic bass or standard electric bassesm for that you go to Trilogy.
While I know a lot of people love Trilogy, I have never found a patch that was just the bass I was looking for, nor one that was close enough to be readily tweakable. I like Atmosphere, and love RMX, but Trilogy has left me cold. Whereas the modular demo kills me every time I have time to play with it - as much as I want it, I can't justify it with my current project commitments. Probably next year, but it's a hell of a synth...
But then, I've had some issues with every bass lib that I've heard or bought. I have Gigastudio, and wind up using Dan Dean basses or one from Sonic Implants. But they don't give me the warmth and fluidity of my Roland U-220! And my favorite acoustic bass was one from an old Kurzweil K1000 - all the newer libs are (for my taste) too agressive, like Larry Seyer, or too bland, like Dan Dean and EastWest. (Understand, 10 years ago I'd have committed felonies for any one of those sounds - well, OK, 20 years.
)
In the end, it's all about what sounds right to YOU, not to us. But good luk on your quest.

trilogy is very nice but the company seems to ahve little interest in th AU version for DP. There is a graphic glitch and audio problem that they never fix. There are workarounds for the audio problem but the company seems very unreliable,
And the install is a nightmare: again they dont update anything and users suffer the consequences.

MX4 has killer synth sounds, does require programming a bit, but wow, it's all there...

Re: Arturia,or Trilogy For bass?
There are some extremely minor issues with some Spectrasonics apps and DP. They appear to be mostly DP's fault (I have all three Spectra libs, Atmosphere, Trilogy. RMX, and while I don't especially like Trilogy's sounds, I have never had a problem with operation under DP, and the couple of initial install issues I had were quickly sorted out by their tech support. Some users have had greater difficulty (I am still using v4.5 and OSX 2.8 because of the reported problems with 4.52.) but my experience with Spectra is they are working as hard as they can toward a solution, my experience with MOTU is they have a much looser attitude toward the issue.
